I saw two short quotes yesterday. Not at the same time, but they fit well together. Life is short. Live your dreams.
Being a writer has been a dream for a long time, and I'm sure not just for me. But to live your dream you have to do more than just think about it. To make it reality you have to work at it.
Yes, we need to spend time doing the soft work, which is my way of describing the thinking time. That's important. But if you don't sit down and put pen to paper, or fingers to the keyboard, then the dream can't become reality. It will just be a dream.
No one can read the book in your head.
Believe in dreams. Yes to that. A little off subject - did you read Pub Rants about the new Digital Platform the Nelson Agency is providing? You have self published so I'd be interested to hear your opinion. Courtney Milan's blog comment is interesting too.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't seen either of the posts you mentioned, but have just had a look at them. The Nelson Agency model and agreement does seem better than others I've read about. I've usually considered agents publishing clients as being a conflict of interest, so I was interested to read Courtney Milan's comments, as she has seen and discussed the contracts, and especially her comment that she didn't think this plan was unethical. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on how things move with this.
